As an employee of CH2M HILL, Linda Macpherson served as concept designer for development of an interpretive visitor centre and outdoor footpath that together provide community education about water recycling and new treatment technologies being employed during a groundwater replenishment pilot test at a Water Corporation facility.

The team prepared a concept plan and worked with the client and local artisans to upgrade site landscaping and to design a memorable visitor experience in temporary buildings.

Water Corporation conducted visitor surveys that revealed that people increased their acceptance of water reuse a full 20 percent after a visit to the facility. These and other results were instrumental in the Western Australian government’s approval for the project to go to full scale — the first of its kind anywhere in Australia.
